Most menswear is written for someone still deciding who he is. Bold new directions, seasonal reinventions, a fit that changes every eighteen months so last year's trousers suddenly look wrong. It's exhausting, and by a certain point it's also beside the point.

Heirloom London is built for the opposite customer. You know your collar size. You know whether you suit a crew neck. You worked out years ago that you look better in navy than in charcoal, or the reverse, and you're not looking to be talked out of it. What you want is somewhere that stocks that, in your size, without a lecture attached.

The name

An heirloom is something you keep long enough that it stops being a purchase and starts being yours. That's the standard we apply. Not clothing you'll be finished with by spring, but the jacket you'll still be reaching for in five years, softened rather than worn out.

Our mission

To stock British menswear that a man over forty can order with confidence: correct in the shoulders, honest about the fit, and cut for a body that belongs to a real person rather than a shop mannequin.

In practice that means we're stricter about sizing than about styling. A perfect jumper in the wrong fit is a wasted purchase, and at this stage nobody has patience for a return.

Our vision

To become the shop a man uses without shopping. Somewhere he goes when a shirt finally gives up, orders the replacement in under two minutes because he already knows what works, and gets on with his day.

What we stock

Menswear for the British calendar rather than a fashion one. Shirts and lighter knits for the warmer months, then jumpers, overshirts and outerwear built for the weather we actually get. Trousers and chinos in cuts that sit properly. And the plain essentials underneath all of it, which nobody photographs and everybody wears.

Where we're smart casual, not costume

Nothing here requires an occasion or an explanation. It works at a desk, at the pub afterwards, at your daughter's thing on Saturday, and it does not announce itself in any of those places. That's rather the idea.
